Amanda Williams

Amanda Williams is a member of Gustafson Gluek PLLC. She is a magna cum laude graduate of Gustavus Adolphus College, holding a B.A. in psychology and criminal justice and earned her J.D. at the University of Minnesota Law School.

During law school Amanda clerked for the Minnesota Tax Court.  Upon graduating from law school, Amanda served as a law clerk for the Hon. Gordon Shumaker, Minnesota Court of Appeals.  She joined Gustafson Gluek in 2005 and has been actively litigating consumer protection, product liability, and antitrust class actions for the last 15 years.

Amanda is an active member of several bar associations serving both local and national areas of interest.  In the past, she has served as committee chair for the Minnesota Women Lawyers Scholarship Fund as well as the liaison board member to the Hennepin County Board Association. 

Amanda has also been recognized as a North Star Lawyer for providing at least 50 hours of pro bono legal services in a calendar year to individuals with need.  She has assisted in the representation of pro se litigants through the Federal Bar Association’s Pro Se Project in addition to those referred to Gustafson Gluek by other sources. Amanda was recognized by the Minnesota Chapter of the Federal Bar Association with the “Distinguished Pro Bono Service Award” in 2011.  She was part of the team at Gustafson Gluek that represented a class of civilly committed sex offenders challenging the constitutionality of Minnesota’s commitment statutes in Karsjens et al v. Jesson (D. Minn.). 

Amanda has been recognized as a “Rising Star” from 2014-2019 by Super Lawyers and was selected as one of Minnesota Lawyer’s Attorneys of the Year in 2017 and 2022.

  • Amanda is currently representing individuals who used 3M combat arms earplugs, both for military and non-military purposes in cases against 3M, including those consolidated in the Northern District of Florida in 3M Combat Arms Earplug Products Liability Litig. (N.D. FL), and those brought in Minnesota State Court, including Graves v. 3M Company, et al. (Minn.)..

    She is also representing a class of individuals who have purchased defective ride-on mowers from Toro in Brooks v. Toro Co. (D. Minn.). Amanda was part of the litigation and trial team that represented Minnesota corn farmers against Syngenta, Inc. related to its marketing of certain GMO corn, in In re Syngenta Litig. (Minn.). This case settled on a nationwide basis for over $1 billion dollars.

    Additionally, Ms. Williams was an integral part of the litigation team that represented individuals with Sprint Fidelis heart leads against Medtronic in In re Medtronic Inc. Sprint Fidelis Leads Prod. Liab. Litig. (D. Minn.), alleging that the leads were defective. The case ultimately settled for over $220 million dollars.
