Abou Amara Appointed Interim Co-Lead Class Counsel in In re: Bank of America Unauthorized Account Opening Litigation

We are pleased to announce that Gustafson Gluek attorney Abou Amara has been appointed by Federal Judge Max O. Cogburn, Jr., of the United States District Court for the Western District of North Carolina, to serve as one of three Interim Co-Lead Class Counsel in the In re: Bank of America Unauthorized Account Opening Litigation, 3:23-cv-422 (W.D.N.C.).

Gustafson Gluek, along with its co-counsel, represents consumers in a class action arising from the Bank’s alleged opening of tens of thousands of credit card accounts without consumers’ prior knowledge or authorization, along with other illegal account opening practices.  Plaintiffs allege that the Bank’s illegal account opening practices resulted in significant harm to tens of thousands of consumers, including harm to consumers credit reports and ability to access credit, and also resulted in ill-gotten gains by the Bank.

Congratulations to Abou and good luck to him and the entire plaintiffs’ team in this matter.
