Bailey Twyman-Metzger

Bailey Twyman-Metzger joined Gustafson Gluek as an associate in March 2023 after working as an attorney editor at Thomson Reuters, where she was actively involved in pro bono work. Prior to her work at Thomson Reuters, Bailey was a Robina Post-Graduate Fellow at The Advocates for Human Rights. Bailey practices in the areas of consumer protection and antitrust litigation, representing individuals and small businesses in both federal and state courts.  She also has experience working on complex data breach cases.

Since joining the Firm, Bailey has been involved in several significant cases, including the In re Combat Arms Earplugs Litig. (Minn.) in which the Firm served as co-lead counsel for individuals in Minnesota state court seeking damages for hearing loss and other related injuries due to the Defendants failure to properly warn users about the failures of the earplugs.  She also is part of the Gustafson Gluek antitrust team, currently representing a class of direct purchasers of boxed beef who are alleging that the Defendants conspired to fix and maintain the price of beef in violation of the federal antitrust laws.  The Firm is one of four co-leads in In re DPP Beef Litig. (D. Minn.), which has already secured $52.5 million in settlements. 

Additionally, Bailey has been involved in several pro bono cases since joining Gustafson Gluek, including work on housing discrimination through the Pro Se Project and eviction expungement through the Volunteer Lawyers Network.  Bailey is an active member of the Minnesota Lavender Bar Association, Federal Bar Association, Minnesota Bar Association, and Minnesota Women Lawyers.

Bailey is a 2015 graduate of Miami University with a B.A. in History and Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies, and a minor in Art History. While at Miami, Bailey worked as a curatorial intern at the university art museum and was actively involved in the Zeta Delta chapter of Alpha Phi Omega service fraternity. Bailey left Ohio for law school in Minneapolis and graduated cum laude from the University of Minnesota Law School in 2018. During law school, Bailey was a staffer and lead symposium editor for the Minnesota Journal of Law & Inequality. Bailey was also a student attorney and student director for the University of Minnesota Human Rights Litigation and International Legal Advocacy Clinic.

When she is not working, Bailey spends most of her time chasing after her twin toddlers with her wife, Katie. With any remaining free time, Bailey enjoys visiting art museums, poking around local bookstores, and drinking fancy coffee. She also collects vintage magazine advertisements and Pyrex.

  • Since joining the Firm, Bailey has worked on several significant cases for Gustafson Gluek.  Bailey was involved in the 3M Combat Ear Plugs litig., in which the Firm was representing individuals whose cases were venued in Minnesota and who were seeking damages for hearing loss and other-related injuries due to the use of earplugs manufactured by 3M.  She also has worked on the In re Google Digital Publisher Antitrust Litig.(N.D. Cal.), in which the Firm has been appointed to the Leadership Committee representing a class of publishers who sold digital advertising space via Google. Plaintiffs allege that Google’s anticompetitive monopolistic practices led to digital publishers being paid less for their advertising space than they otherwise would have been paid in a competitive market. Bailey is also working on the In re DPP Beef Litig. (D. Minn.) antitrust class action in which Gustafson Gluek is one of four Co-Lead Counsel representing a class of direct purchasers of boxed beef. Plaintiffs are alleging that the Defendants conspired to fix and maintain the price of beef resulting in antitrust violations and damage to the plaintiffs.
