David Goodwin joined Gustafson Gluek in 2008 and became a Member in 2015. David practices in the areas of data privacy, antitrust, securities, and consumer protection. He has represented individuals and businesses in class actions and other complex litigation. Has been appointed to leadership positions in several cases.
David also finds time to give back to the community by taking on many pro bono cases over the years. He has been named as a North Star Lawyer for providing over 50 hours of pro bono legal services in a year on several occasions.
He also is active in the Federal Bar Association on both the national level as well as with the Minnesota Chapter. He has served as a National Director of the FBA. Currently, he is General Counsel to the FBA. He is also a past Chair of the Younger Lawyers Division and a Board Member of the Antitrust and Trade Regulation Section. David is also a Director of the Minnesota Chapter of the FBA, where he has served as the FBA Liaison for the Pro Se Project, which matches pro se civil litigants with pro bono counsel, which is a perfect complement to his pro bono work. David is also active with the Minnesota State Bar Association, where he has served as a Co-Chair of the Consumer Litigation Section. David has been recognized as a “Rising Star” and as a “Super Lawyer” in Minnesota by Super Lawyers.
David graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison earning his BA in History. Dave went on to get his Juris Doctorate from DePaul University College of Law.
Originally from West Hartford, Connecticut, David moved to Minnetonka, Minnesota with his family as a young boy. There, he grew up playing hockey and football. He also enjoyed fishing and backcountry camping, which he still tries to find time for. David loves spending time with his lovely and talented wife and their two sweet and sharp daughters. Their dog Millie and cat Biscuit round out the family. In his free time, David enjoys traveling, going to concerts, golfing, and cooking – he is the two-time champion of his neighborhood chili cook-off.

David is currently serving as Interim Class Counsel representing individuals who had their personally identifiable information impermissibly leaked in In re: MNGI Digestive Health, PA (D. Minn.). He is also representing another proposed class of individuals who had their personally identifiable information impermissibly leaked in In re Park Dental Data Breach Litig. (Minn.). Both of those cases are pending in Hennepin County, Minnesota. He is also Co-Lead Counsel in Quaife v. Brady Martz & Associates, P.C. (D.N.D.), which is a data breach case pending in the District of North Dakota.
David also serves as Co-Lead Counsel representing vehicle owners in who purchased vehicles with faulty hybrid operability in Crowell v. FCA U.S. LLC (D. De.).
