Emily Egart

Emily Egart joined Gustafson Gluek PLLC as an associate in the Fall of 2024. Emily advocates on behalf of small businesses and individuals who have been harmed by antitrust, consumer fraud, data privacy or constitutional violations, among other things. 

She is a passionate advocate for a fairer economy and improved access to justice. She is involved in numerous associations within the legal community including Lawyers Concerned for Lawyers, Minnesota Women Lawyers, the Federal Bar Association, and the Minnesota State Bar Association.

Emily earned her J.D. from Mitchell Hamline School of Law, where she was involved as an editor in theMitchell Hamline Law Review and graduated with a Law & Business Certificate. Emily received a Merit Scholarship upon admission to Mitchell Hamline, made the Dean’s List numerous semesters, and graduated with Latin honors in Spring 2024.

During law school, Emily was an Associate and later the Notes and Comments Editor for the Mitchell Hamline Law Review. She participated in The Hague Program through American University in Washington, D.C., for a May Term studying international criminal law and counterterrorism. Additionally, she volunteered for Lawyers Concerned for Lawyers MN and Restorative Justice Community Action. During her 3L year, Emily was given the opportunity to serve as a Judicial Extern with the Honorable Donovan W. Frank in the United States District Court for the District of Minnesota. 

Prior to law school, Emily obtained a Master of Arts in Holistic & Integrative Health from Saint Catherine University, and a Bachelor of Arts in Studio Arts from the University of Minnesota. Her professional experience prior to entering law school includes her extensive work as a wellness coach and advocate, founder of a nonprofit organization, and as a yoga instructor for 15+ years. Emily is an eternal advocate for alcoholism and addiction recovery, an active member of the recovery community, and she authored a Note published in the Mitchell Hamline Law Review analyzing the criminalization of substance use disorders and mental illness.

Emily is also an endurance athlete and competes in marathons and IRONMAN races internationally. In her free time, she is typically training for her next race and spending precious time with her dad, mom (in spirit), sister, and friends. When she has the time, she also loves a solid day spent watching binge-worthy TV shows paired with lots of snacks.

  • Since joining Gustafson Gluek, Emily has had the opportunity to work on several different cases. Emily is currently part of the litigation team in Ray et al. v. NCAA (E.D. Cal.), in which the Firm represents the plaintiff volunteer coaches in a large antitrust class action brought against the NCAA alleging that the NCAA’s Volunteer Coach Rule unlawfully fixed salaries of so-called Volunteer Coaches at NCAA Division I institutions.

    Additionally, Emily is heavily involved in multiple pro bono cases including representing a veteran family in Texas defrauded of their life savings, and representing a family seeking retribution for a funeral home’s mishandling of a family member’s remains.
