Frances Mahoney-Mosedale

Frances Mahoney-Mosedale joined Gustafson Gluek PLLC as an associate in 2021 after clerking for the Firm throughout law school.  As an associate, Frances has had the opportunity to represent individuals and small businesses on behalf of themselves and/or a class in the in the areas of consumer protection, product defect, and antitrust.  

In representation of her clients, Frances has been involved in litigation against major corporations and large defense law firms.  Frances is working on the In re Deere & Co. Repair Services Antitrust Litig. (N.D. Ill.), in which Gustafson Gluek has been appointed as Co-Lead Counsel to represent a proposed class of farmers who purchased repair services from John Deere and are alleging that Deere monopolized the market for repair and diagnostic services for its agricultural equipment in order to inflate the price of these service.  Frances was also involved in the In re Combat Arms Earplugs Litig. (Minn.) in which the Firm served as co-lead counsel for individuals in Minnesota state court seeking damages for hearing loss and other related injuries due to the Defendants failure to properly warn users about the failures of the earplugs.

Having the opportunity to provide legal services to those who might otherwise not be able to afford it is something that is important to Frances.  As such, she has been actively involved in representing individuals on a pro bono basis through the Minnesota Federal Bar Associations Pro Se Project, which matches pro se litigants to pro bono clients. Frances was involved in a case against the City of Minneapolis, where she helped represent individuals who were alleged to have been subjected to excessive force while peacefully protesting.  Frances has been recognized as a North Star Lawyer every year she has been practicing, a distinguishment given to attorneys who provide 50 hours or more of bro bono legal services in any one year.

Frances’ accomplishments have not gone unnoticed.  In 2024, Frances was recognized by Minnesota Lawyer as an “Up and Coming Attorney” in Minnesota.  This award honors a select group of lawyers who are off to a fast start in their legal careers.  She is also an active member of Minnesota Women Lawyers, the American Bar Association, Federal Bar Association, Minnesota State Bar Association, and the Lavender Bar Association.

Frances has a Bachelor of Arts from Lewis & Clark college, graduating with a major in English and a minor in Gender Studies. Frances is also a graduate of the University of Minnesota Law School.

Frances and her wife live in St. Paul with their dog, cat, and two chickens. Frances enjoys running along the Mississippi river, seeing live music throughout the Twin Cities, and watching the Vikings break her heart on Sundays.

  • Since joining Gustafson Gluek in 2021 as an associate, Frances has been representing individuals and small businesses in a variety of antitrust, consumer protection, and pro bono cases.

    Frances is actively involved in the In re Deere & Co. Repair Antitrust Litig. (N.D. Ill.), in which Gustafson Gluek, has been appointed Co-Lead Counsel to represent a proposed class of farmers who purchased repair services from John Deere. In this case, Plaintiffs allege Deere monopolized the market for repair and diagnostic services for its agricultural equipment in order to inflate the price of these services.

    Frances  is also working on the In re Change Healthcare, Inc. Customer Data Security Breach Litig. (D. Minn.), in which Dan Gustafson has been named Overall Lead Counsel to represent victims of the data security incident in early 2024, which exposed more than six terabytes of healthcare patients’ personal and health information and disabled the software that facilitated business operations to healthcare providers. She also recently helped represent individuals whose cases were venued in Minnesota and who were seeking damages for hearing loss and other-related injuries due to the use of earplugs manufactured by 3M.
