Lydia Lockwood

Lydia Lockwood joined Gustafson Gluek PLLC as an associate in the Fall of 2024. Lydia is joining the Gustafson Gluek team in representing individuals and small businesses that hold companies and entities liable for antitrust, consumer protection, constitutional rights, and data breach violations, among other things.

Lydia has already been working on several important cases for the Firm, including In re: Bank of America Unauthorized Account Opening Litigation, in which the Firm has been named as one of three interim Co-Lead Counsel.  Lydia will join the Gustafson Gluek team in representing consumers alleging that Bank of America opened tens of thousands of credit card accounts without consumers’ prior knowledge or authorization, along with other illegal account opening practices. Plaintiffs allege that the Bank’s illegal account opening practices resulted in significant harm to tens of thousands of consumers, including harm to consumers' credit reports and ability to access credit, and also resulted in ill-gotten gains by the Bank. Lydia is also working on a case against Amazon on behalf of Illinois residents asserting a violation of the Illinois Biometric Information Protection Act for having facial images scanned by Amazon without consent or compensation. Gustafson Gluek is also serving as co-lead counsel in this case as well.

Pro bono work is very important to Lydia.  Her dedication to pro bono work stems from her time as a student attorney in the Medical-Legal Partnership Clinic at the University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law. During this time, she was able to represent individuals living with HIV, support legislative efforts to decriminalize HIV in Maryland and understand the essential role lawyers play as advocates for their clients. Lydia was awarded the Hoffberger Clinical Law Prize, awarded annually to an outstanding member of the graduating class who has excelled as a student attorney in the Clinical Law Program. She is excited to continue her work on pro bono cases at Gustafson Gluek.

During law school, Lydia was a member of the Women’s Bar Association, Student Health Law Organization, and the Journal of Health Care Law & Policy where she served as a Notes and Comments Editor. Lydia worked as a Law Clerk at the Federation of State Medical Boards and was actively involved in mentoring first-year students as a Peer Advisor and second-year students in the Medical-Legal Partnership Clinic.

Lydia holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of St. Thomas, graduating with a major in Communication and Journalism.

Lydia enjoys spending time with friends and family, traveling, and trying new coffee shops. On the weekends you can almost always find her walking around one of the lakes and cheering on the Vikings.
