Pro bono work is deeply important to Lydia. Her dedication to pro bono work stems from her time as a student attorney in the Medical-Legal Partnership Clinic at the University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law. During this time, she represented individuals living with HIV, supported legislative efforts to decriminalize HIV in Maryland and gained an understanding of the essential role lawyers play as advocates for their clients. Lydia was awarded the Hoffberger Clinical Law Prize, awarded annually to an outstanding member of the graduating class who has excelled as a student attorney in the Clinical Law Program. Lydia continues to dedicate her efforts on meaningful pro bono cases at Gustafson Gluek.

Lydia holds a B.A. from the University of St. Thomas, where she majored in Communication and Journalism and J.D. from the University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law. During law school, she was an active member of the Women’s Bar Association and mentored first-year students as a Peer Advisor, served as a Notes & Comments Editor of the Journal of Health Care Law & Policy, and worked as a Law Clerk at the Federation of State Medical Boards.

Lydia enjoys spending time with friends and family, traveling, and trying new coffee shops. On the weekends you can almost always find her walking around one of the lakes and cheering on the Vikings.
