Packaged Seafood Products

Gustafson Gluek PLLC is investigating reports of possible collusive price fixing amongst the world’s largest producers of packaged seafood products (“PSPs”). PSPs include foods such as canned tuna.In July 2015, Thai Union Frozen Products Public Co. Ltd. (“Thai Union”) announced that both it and Bumble Bee Foods LLC (“Bumble Bee”) had received subpoenas from the U.S. Department of Justice relating to an investigation into price fixing of PSPs. Recent PSP prices may reflect such price fixing in that prices have increased while consumption of PSPs has decreased. As a result of this alleged conduct, anyone who purchased PSPs directly from Thai Union (which sells the “Chicken of the Sea” brand through its Tri-Union Seafoods LLC subsidiary) or Bumble Bee may have paid an unlawfully inflated  price for those products. Those who purchased products directly from Thai Union or Bumble Bee likely include club warehouses, retail groceries, grocery cooperatives, mass merchants, and drug stores. If you or your company purchased PSPs directly from Tri-Union Seafoods LLC or Bumble Bee at any time since August 2011 and you would like to discuss your legal options, you can reach us at 612-333-8844 or by completing the below form.
