Abou B. Amara, Jr. joins Gustafson Gluek after clerking on the Minnesota Supreme Court
Gustafson Gluek PLLC is pleased to announce that Abou B. Amara, Jr. has joined the firm as an associate.
Abou joins Gustafson Gluek after clerking on the Minnesota Supreme Court. Prior to joining the Court, Abou was an associate attorney at a well-respected Twin Cities law firm, representing individual clients in employment, civil rights, and contract matters. In addition to his practice, Abou currently serves as the treasurer of the Minnesota Association of Black Lawyers.
During law school, Abou was a two-time National Moot Court individual champion—earning the “Best Oralist” award at both the 2018 William E. McGee National Moot Court Competition on Civil Rights and the 2019 Evan A. Evans National Moot Court Competition on Constitutional Law. Abou was also elected by his law school classmates to serve as commencement speaker.
Before attending law school, Abou had an extensive career in the public affairs arena, including serving as a top aide to the Minnesota Speaker of the House and as a frequent TV/radio analyst of Minnesota politics and public affairs.
In 2015, Abou was named to Twin Cities Business Magazine’s “100 Minnesotans to Know” list for his impact in the public affairs arena and honored as a Minnesota “Shaper of the Future” by the publication.
“Our firm has a long tradition of recruiting and cultivating extremely talented attorneys and professionals who do not back down from a challenge” said Karla Gluek, Gustafson Gluek’s managing partner. “In so many ways, Abou is a continuation of that tradition. He brings the values, the skillset, and life experiences—both in the law and outside of it—that are a great fit for our firm. We are excited to have Abou on board.”
