Gustafson Gluek Attorneys take on<br>Leadership in Cases
We are proud to highlight our attorneys’ leadership appointments in antitrust litigation.
Michelle Looby is leading the Frozen Potatoes Antitrust Litigation, where Gustafson Gluek has been appointed as Interim Co-Lead Counsel, representing direct purchasers in a class action lawsuit against major frozen potato product manufacturers in the United States. The case alleges that major industry players, including Lam Weston Holdings Inc., McCain Foods USA, Inc., J.R. Simplot Co., and Cavendish Farms, Inc., engaged in anticompetitive practices that artificially drove up prices significantly impacting purchasers. These companies collectively control much of the frozen potato products market, which generates billions in annual sales.
Cathy Smith has been appointed to the Plaintiffs’ Steering Committee in In re Hershey Chocolate Litigation representing the consumers in a class action lawsuit. The plaintiffs in this action allege that Defendant deceived the consumers by failing to disclose the presence of PFAS in their product packaging. PFAS, also known as “forever chemical,” is a substance with dangerous health effects that can transfer from the packaging to the food and remain in the body forever once consumed.
Join us in congratulating Michelle and Cathy on their well-deserved appointments!
