Karla M. Gluek Receives the
2025 Myra Bradwell Award from
Minnesota Women Lawyers
Gustafson Gluek is proud to announce that its founding member – Karla Gluek – has been named the Minnesota Women Lawyers’ 2025 Myra Bradwell Award recipient.
In 1869, Myra Bradwell attempted to become the first woman to be admitted to the Illinois bar but was denied by the Illinois Supreme Court on the grounds that she was “disabled” as a married woman. In 1890, the Illinois Supreme Court acted on its own motion and approved Bradwell's original application. On March 28, 1892, Bradwell received her license to practice before the United States Supreme Court.
The Myra Bradwell Award is given each year by the Minnesota Women Lawyers to celebrate exceptional attorneys who possess courage, perseverance, leadership, and dedication on issues of concern to women and the legal community.
Karla exemplifies the character and achievements for which the Myra Bradwell Award is given, both personally and professionally. During her many years as Firm Manager for Gustafson Gluek, Karla coached, mentored, and advocated for countless young lawyers. She led the charge at Gustafson Gluek for diversity, inclusion, pro bono work and a family friendly workplace. She never tired in her efforts to mentor and elevate women, extend paid parental leave and insist on providing flexibility not only for Gustafson Gluek’s attorneys but all of the Firm’s employees.
Without Karla’s leadership, Gustafson Gluek would not be recognized as a national leader in its class action and complex litigation practice as well as its pro bono work on behalf of those that needs its help the most.
Congratulations Karla – all of us at Gustafson Gluek have benefited from your unwavering support and compassionate management.
Please join us in congratulating Karla on her well-deserved recognition.
