Gustafson Gluek Secures $360K Settlement from the City of St. Paul and St. Paul Elected Official

MINNEAPOLIS, MN—Led by Abou Amara, Gustafson Gluek PLLC recently secured a $360,000 settlement agreement from the City of St. Paul, Minnesota, and a St. Paul City Councilmember, in her individual capacity, arising from allegations that the Councilmember defamed the Firm’s Client, illegally disclosed the Client’s private personnel data, in violation of the Minnesota Government Data Practices Act, and committed a negligent tort against the Client.

On August 12, 2026, the St. Paul City Council authorized payment of the settlement agreement, bringing an end to this high-profile action that commenced in Minnesota state court (Hennepin County) in March 2025.
