Gustafson Gluek Files Flushable Bathroom Wipes Complaint
Today, Gustafson Gluek filed a class action against manufacturers of bathroom wipes falsely marketed and sold as “flushable” and sewer or septic safe. The lawsuit alleges that the wipes are not, in fact, flushable. Instead of degrading like toilet paper upon being flushed, the Defendants’ wipes stay intact resulting in significant clogs and damages to municipal and county sewer systems and waste treatment facilities. Despite numerous complaints from state and local sewer authorities in the United States, and internationally, Defendants have not removed the false claims regarding the flushability of these wipes, which has resulted in thousands, if not millions, of dollars in damages.
