Gustafson Gluek Files Lawsuit Over Beechnut Baby Food Contamination

Gustafson Gluek filed a case against Beech-Nut, Inc. on behalf of consumers around the country alleging that numerous Beech-Nut baby foods contain detectable levels of, or are at risk of containing, heavy metals and perchlorate (View Complaint). Babies and small children are particularly vulnerable to the effects posed by these substances. This lawsuit claims that Beech-Nut falsely advertised its baby foods because it knew, or should have known, that its baby foods were at risk of containing heavy metals and perchlorate. This case comes on the heels of a report to Congress about the ongoing failure of the baby food industry to prevent the presence of heavy metals in baby food (View Congressional Report).

If you have purchased the following baby food brands in the last four years, you may have a claim: Beech-Nut, Gerber, Earth’s Best, Happy Baby, Parent’s Choice, Plum Organics, or Sprout. For more information or to speak to someone about this potential case, please contact Gustafson Gluek.
