Gustafson Gluek PLLC Appoints Daniel Hedlund and Michelle Looby to Lead The Firm’s Antitrust Group

Gustafson Gluek is proud to appoint Daniel Hedlund and Michelle Looby as Co-Chairs of the Firm’s Antitrust group.  A recognized leader in the antitrust field, Gustafson Gluek has prosecuted antitrust violations in state and federal courts across the country since its founding in 2003. According to the 2019 Antitrust Report produced by the University of San Francisco Law School and The Huntington National Bank, Gustafson Gluek has helped recover over $707 million dollars for class members in 48 different antitrust cases during the 2009 through 2019 time period. Although Gustafson Gluek has not previously had an Antitrust Chair, as the Firm and its antitrust practice has grown, we believe it is important to appoint Dan Hedlund and Michelle Looby to provide day-to-day leadership in our Antitrust cases and for our Antitrust Team.

Dan Hedlund has been practicing antitrust law since 1997 and joined Gustafson Gluek in 2006.  Dan has been named as a Top 100 Lawyer in Minnesota by SuperLawyers for the last several years. Dan is well respected in the antitrust field and has been appointed to leadership positions in numerous cases.  Dan has been an integral leader for the Firm in In re Broiler Chicken Antitrust Litig. (N.D. Ill.), In re Interior Molded Doors Indirect Purchaser Antitrust Litig. (E.D. Va.) and In re Pork Antitrust Litig. (D. Minn.), all cases in which the Firm serves as Co-Lead Counsel.  In addition, he is also currently a member of the Plaintiffs’ Steering Committee in In re Dealer Management Systems Antitrust Litig. (N.D. Ill.).  Dan is a past Chairman for the Antitrust Section of the Minnesota State Bar Association (MSBA), Secretary for the MSBA Consumer Litigation Section, and a past President of the Committee to Support Antitrust Laws. Dan is an Advisory Board member for the American Antitrust Institute and has served in multiple leadership roles at both the national and local level for the Federal Bar Association, including most recently as the Co-Vice President for the Eighth Circuit.  In addition, Dan has testified multiple times before the Minnesota legislature on competition law, and before the Federal Rules Committee.
