Abou Amara to Speak on COSAL Panel About A New Rule Coming to the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure
On August 5, 2025, Gustafson Gluek attorney Abou Amara will speak, and serve as a panelist, at a Continuing Legal Education (CLE) program hosted by the Committee to Support the Antitrust Laws (COSAL) and COSAL’s Rules Committee.
This CLE panel, titled “Unpacking Federal Rule 16.1: Essentials for Class Action Litigators,” will explore the newly adopted Rule 16.1 of the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure, and its potential impact on case management in the multidistrict and antitrust class action litigation context. The Federal Judiciary’s Committee on Rules of Practice & Procedure gave final approval for the new Rule in 2024, with the new Rule to take effect in December 2025.
Abou Amara, along with two other panelists, will break down the text of the new Rule 16.1, analyze its potential impact, and provide insights into how antitrust and class action attorneys can navigate their practices under the new Rule moving forward.
